The Jumeirah Park de-velopment is located at the heart of Dubai’s central district, behind Ju-meirah Lakes Towers ULT), and is adjacent to Jumeirah Islands. Characterized by styl-ishly and creatively designed “ luxury villas, the relatively . new community consists of villas based on these themes – Heritage, Regional and Legacy. Each villa has three to five-bedrooms, car parks and a terrace area. Dinesh Sajnani, an entre- preneur, and his wife Vidhi, a homemaker, moved to their home in JP a year back. The Sajnanis found their villa in Jumeirah Park far more spacious than their three- bedroom apartment in Bur Dubai, They found JP to have a truly peaceful and calm feel about it. Their villa has a backyard where the junior Sajnanis, Chahat and Tan- ishk, love to play. Both study in Wellington International School which is only about a IS – minute drive away. According to Vidhi, “We live in an area that is grow- ing exponentially, and the center of the city is gradually . moving towards this side. At the same time, it is an oasis of peace and calm. Its close proximity to our children’s school and our office in JLT saves us a lot of precio~ time that would otherwise be spent on commuting.”

Having said that, the facili-ties in Jumeirah Park haven’t been fully developed as there have been structural delays in the planned town center which was supposed to have been operational by now. “The parks are quite dis- appointing, and aren’tre- ally according to the original plans shown us whilst we were still deciding, Outside our villa, there is a huge area supposed to be allocated for a park. Instead, it has been filled with granules, so it cannot be used by kids for playing,” says Vidhi.Highlighting the current state of affairs in the local- ity. Vidhi explains, “Jumeirah Park has an open security system, which means that it will not be a gated com- munity but there will be se- curity guards patrolling the area. Such security system is rated insufficient by the resi- dents, and we look forward to having a fully secure, gated community. Currently, we go to Meadows Town Centre or JLT for daily shopping. In the absence of common ar- eas like a park, gymnasium or community center, there is hardly any interaction among neighbors and other residents of Jumeirah Park.”

The road infrastructure connecting Jumeirah Park to neighboring localities also requires a major upgrade, Like many other Jumeirah Park residents, Vidhi also faces the problem of going through a long commute from JLT to Jumeirah Park. In the absence of a proper route, this entails taking a long route from Jebel Ali, The Meadows or Dubai Ma-rina which adds a good ten minutes to an otherwise two- minute drive. “Residents of Jumeirah Park are hopeful that this route will be changed for the better. Also, in order for us to go to Ibn Battuta Mall, we have to go through the Discovery Gardens flyover which is jampacked during rush hours as the common road to the mall has been closed for the past two years due to plumbing work So we look forward to the opening of this route at the soonest, ” adds Vidhi, “I think it is just a matter of time before facilities in Ju-meirah Park are upgraded, road issues smoothened and other amenities available. The place is in its fledgling stage, and we hope it will be-come a self-sufficient com-munity with parks, kids’ hobby classes, supermar- kets, etc. The opening of the community center in April with amenities like a coffee shop, supermarkets, health club; etc., is a concrete step in this direction, We have to
wait and watch, ” says Vidhi,
